I  ♥ Strata

“If you do what you love, you’ll never work a day in your life” - Unknown

The 2019 conference will celebrate our industry by recognising your passion for our wonderful sector. The theme Strata provides a great opportunity to express your enthusiasm and connect with colleagues over your love for your chosen profession.

During the day, eighteen topics, three workshops, and three keynote sessions will educate delegates, while in the evenings, conference dinners, awards evenings, and networking opportunities will allow you to share your strata stories and exchange ideas. This is a hot ticket on the strata industry calendar and we look forward to seeing you there.

Young Guns Breakfast

Sponsored by Grace Lawyers

The term branding has long been relegated to companies, but today almost every individual has a personal brand. Not many of us have consciously cultivated these brands, but they exist nonetheless. A digital footprint in the sands of time and space supported by friends, colleagues, and bosses. According to an AVG study, 92 percent of children under the age of two already have a digital footprint.

The question is no longer IF you have a personal brand, but if you choose to guide and cultivate the brand or to let it be defined on your behalf. The Young Guns in Strata Breakfast will explore personal branding and supply you with seven ways to start building an awesome personal brand.

Business Owner / Sole Trader Breakfast

Sponsored by Higgins Coatings

As a sole trader, it is critical that you understand whether you control your environment and your success. Do you believe in destiny? Or are your triumphs directly tied to your actions?

Our expert facilitator will introduce the psychological concept of Locus of Control (LoC), which helps determine how much we as individuals believe in our own fate. The Business Owner / Sole Trader in Strata Breakfast will explore this idea and help attendees consider what exists inside their spheres of influence. By understanding our own beliefs and recognising our LoC we can better approach challenges and implement the changes we desire.

Keynote Speakers

Graeme Cowan

Graeme Cowan has had many different roles in his life, but none he considers more important than his current task.

In his earlier career, he worked in senior leadership positions with Johnson & Johnson, Pfizer, and AT Kearney, but now his main aim is to help leaders and teams to be more caring, resilient and productive.

After struggling through a 5-year episode of depression that his psychiatrist described as the worst he had ever treated, Graeme emerged from this crisis with a different view about how we can increase our resilience, mood, and performance. As an active Board Director and co-founder of R U OK?, he has fashioned a niche role in society, described by the Australian Financial Review as a “workplace mental wellness expert”.

Graeme is also the author of 4 books, including the internationally acclaimed BACK FROM THE BRINK, which includes a testimonial from the former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair amongst its praise.

Sarab Singh

Sarab is an accomplished business strategist with extensive experience in the delivery of professional consultancy services across a wide range of industries. Sarab’s expertise is highly sought after and, as CEO of one of Western Australia’s largest and most innovative leadership training organisations, it’s a privilege to have such a well-regarded facilitator coordinate our sessions. He is a strategic leader who is experienced in operations, as well as corporate strategy, and is an expert in human behaviour.

Over the last 7 years, Sarab has provided guidance and strategic advice to senior management teams of many professional services firms as the economic world becomes more volatile and disruptive. Prior to this role, he was a Director at the Australian Customs and Border Protection, where he managed several operational and functional areas including narcotics, national security, and counter-terrorism.

 Anh Do

Anh Do is one of Australia's most sought-after stand-up comedians. The talented actor, artist, and producer is also the bestselling author of The Happiest Refugee: A Memoir, which charts his journey from a starving refugee at the age of three to a career as a successful commercial lawyer and finally, one of Australia's best-loved entertainers. As recognition for his talents as an exceptional author, Anh has been awarded Australian Book of the Year with sales in excess of 400,000.

Anh is renowned as an outstanding keynote speaker, so join us and be entertained, inspired and uplifted by this very special Australian.
